Apple wczoraj rozesłało maile, informujące o nowych zmianach w kwestiach walutowych – płatności w Polsce będą wkrótce w złotówkach zamiast euro.

No earlier than fourteen (14) days after the date of this email, we will change the currency used for books offered in the following countries to their respective local currencies:

• Chile (Chilean Peso)
• Colombia (Colombian Peso)
• Peru (Peruvian Sol)
• Bulgaria (Bulgarian Lev)
• Czech Republic (Czech Koruna)
• Hungary (Hungarian Forint)
• Poland (Polish Złoty)
• Romania (Romanian Leu)

Zmiany dotyczą też paru innych krajów, a przejście na inne waluty nastąpi nie wcześniej niż za 14 dni od daty wysłania maila, czyli od 9/05/2017. To oznacza, że nie wejdą one w życie nie wcześniej niż 23/05/2017.

As of the Currency Crossover Date, Publisher authorizes Apple to do a one-time conversion of Publisher’s Customer Prices supplied in connection with the sale of eBooks to customers in Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania into the currencies set forth on Exhibit C1 for each country, with the understanding that Apple shall convert the Customer Prices supplied by Publisher into the respective local currency and then shall set the Customer Price in local currency by selecting the nearest available increment in Apple’s systems (the “Converted Price”). Notwithstanding the foregoing, if the price is higher than the highest increment available in Apple’s systems after the price has been converted into the respective local currency, then the title so affected will not be available for sale on the iBooks Store in the applicable country unless Publisher selects an available price increment for such title. For the avoidance of doubt, Publisher shall be able to change its Customer Prices at any time subject to Exhibit C1.

Apple wymaga też od wydawców zaakceptowania nowego regulaminu, w którym piszą o jednorazowej konwersji cen. Po konwersji można je oczywiście zmodyfikować na inne poziomy, a skoro już mowa o tych ostatnich, to Apple przygotowało dla wydawców następujące opcje do wyboru:

Nigdy nie myślałem o tym w ten sposób, ale górna granica w wysokości 85 złotych wydaje się być za niska dla niektórych książek – znam sporo pozycji, które są znacznie droższe.
