Od wydania aplikacji Mailbox na iPhone’a minęły trzy miesiące. Dziś w App Store pojawiła się wersja programu przeznaczona na tablet Apple.

Twórcy Mailbox zapowiedzieli, że ich aplikacja pojawi się zarówno na wszystkich urządzeniach z iOS, jak i na OS X. Jak widać, powoli wywiązują się z tej obietnicy. Mailbox na iPadzie ma interfejs, który na pierwszy rzut oka przypomina systemową aplikację poczty. Działa jednak tylko w trybie poziomym, co nie jest zbyt wygodne. Jednocześnie widoczna jest lista wiadomości oraz podgląd otwartej konwersacji.

Obsługa programu wygląda dokładnie tak samo, jak na iPhonie. Krótkimi i długimi przesunięciami w prawo bądź lewo archiwizujemy i usuwamy wiadomości, bądź też odkładamy je do przeczytania później lub przypisujemy do list. Oczywiście po osiągnięciu „inbox 0” nagradzani jesteśmy zdjęciem. Aplikacja synchronizuje się jedynie z kontami Gmail, twórcy zapowiedzieli jednak, że wkrótce zostanie wprowadzona obsługa innych usług pocztowych, w tym iCloud.

Pojawienie się Mailbox na iPadzie znacznie ułatwi moją pracę. Na iPhonie korzystam z niej od dawna, więc moje wiadomości trafiają do odpowiednich katalogów. Ich podgląd w systemowym Mailu na OS X nie sprawia problemów, ale na iPadzie nie jest już tak wygodny. Nie bez znaczenia jest też interfejs Mailboxa – jest po prostu nowocześniejszy i bardziej intuicyjny niż ten, który proponuje Apple.
